Hi, I'm Sara. I'm a performer, writer and producer.
I'm Co-Director of Eggs Collective, a company making performance for stage, screen and public places. "Salty work at the boundaries of theater and cabaret, offering sly satire under a veil of sweetness" - The New York Times.
I'm also a participatory arts practitioner, working with people of all ages on performance-based projects. I have particular experience working with people living with dementia.
As a writer-performer, I have co-created theatre shows with Eggs Collective for national touring (including Soho Theatre, Latitude Festival & Edinburgh Fringe), and digital & broadcast projects for BBC, including SILKY HOTEL, GET A ROUND and SMILE LOVE IT MIGHT NEVER HAPPEN - nominated for Best Comedy Programme at Royal Television Society Awards NW in 2018 and 2019, respectively. I was selected as one of BBC Writersroom's Northern Voices 2020.
As an actor, I have performed in THE FOREST OF FORGOTTEN DISCOS (Hope Mill Theatre/ Contact), DOG (Caroline Moran/ West Yorkshire Playhouse), IT BURNS IT ALL CLEAN (Selina Thompson/ Transform Festival), and interactive performance including THE DOOR (Scottee & Friends), HUNT & DARTON CAFÉ (Hunt & Darton) and BLACK TONIC (The Other Way Works).
Recent participatory projects include an artist residency for The Care Aesthetics Research Project, for University of Manchester & Care Lab at The Whitworth. I've also been working with nursing students at University of Chester exploring arts & dementia practice; with older people in day centres across Huddersfield for Creative Scene. In the second half of the year, I'll be working with DIY Theatre Company in Salford, with Eggs Collective making three cabaret shows for Bradford 2025 UK City of Culture; and in Sheffield where we'll be doing a stint as Rivelin Co's Neighbourhood Artists.
